The Client:

Tasked with overseeing numerous rooms, the client faced the daunting challenge of quickly detecting and preventing water leaks in toilet tanks—a task that, if left unchecked, could lead to significant property damage.

The Challenge:

Traditional methods for leak detection were insufficient for the scale and immediacy required. The client sought a solution that could offer continuous monitoring and instant leakage alerts.

The Solution

The innovation lies in a battery-powered device, utilizing advanced AI and Machine Learning models, floating atop water tanks to vigilantly monitor for leaks.

Data Collection

Employed microchips with accelerometers and gyroscopes to gather real-time data, initiating the first step towards intelligent leak detection.

Model Training

The clean feature vectors, prepared through meticulous pre-processing, were analyzed by a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model to predict leaks with minimal false alarms.

Device Specifications

Featuring an ESP32 board for reliable WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and an IMU sensor for detecting water movements. Programmed with Arduino and powered by battery, it promises up to 24 months of leak monitoring.

Upon integration with a user’s mobile network, the device springs into action, detecting any disturbance in the water tank indicative of a leak. It assesses the leak’s severity and informs the user through real-time notifications, employing energy-saving tactics to enhance its lifespan.

Fitting a complex ML model into a device with limited memory and ensuring continuous internet connectivity for optimal functionality were among the hurdles navigated during development.
